The children's picture book tells through a heartfelt story about three friends Utu, Eino and Aisha. One day, Utu's mother is diagnosed with breast cancer. This information raises many questions in the children. What is cancer? How does a person get cancer? What happens to Utu's mother during cancer treatments?

This is where the friends' big information search operation begins and the trio name their group Curious Learners. In the story, the children have adventures as researchers and learn about cancer and its treatment, and finally Utu's mother, who is undergoing treatment, recovers.

Curious learners investigate cancer is an informative and easy-to-understand children's illustrated non-fiction book about a serious illness. It is suitable for anyone whose loved one has or has had cancer. The book supports children and adults in dealing with a difficult topic and illustrates what happens in cancer treatments. The book is debut author Henna Auno and illustrator Piia Kedo's first collaboration with Etana Editions.

About the book
"Thank you for writing such a book! I wish this book had been good right at the beginning of the cancer treatments a year ago. It would probably have dispelled the related fears. There was enough information and it was told in a hopeful, yet realistic way <3. " - Breast cancer patient, Jyväskylä

"The new information was at least what kind of machine is used to give radiation therapy and what kind of chair you sit in when you get the medicine. I didn't know it took so long, two or three hours when the medicine is instilled! There was a suitable amount of text. It would be suitable for at least 8-year-olds." - Heta, 11

"There was a lot of new information in it, at least the radiotherapy stuff. Those information shocks were the best. The best maybe for 7-12 year olds." - Top, 13
